Type Nihongo

Type Nihongo is a chill way to work on your Japanese typing skills without the pressure. It's not fancy, but it gets the job done. There are over 500 words to study, covering categories like nouns, adjectives, verbs, and subcategories like people, places, time, and so on.

The game lets you switch between English meanings, kana, and kanji readings whenever you want, which is nice if you want to switch without going through menus. If you get stuck on a word, you can skip it and keep going. There are audio clips for most of the words, so you can hear how they sound. Not all of them just yet, but I plan on adding more.

I plan on adding a category for sentence fill-in-the-blanks in the future.

It’s simple, straightforward, and all about helping you get better at Japanese vocab.

How to play:

1. Download the game, and click the "Type Nihongo" program. 

2. Click the category you want to play.

3. Type in the field the answers. Toggling the Kana will make the words appear in Hiragana, and enter the English meaning to get the word correct. Toggling the Kanji will make the words appear in kanji/katakana, enter the romaji, or hiragana spelling to get the words right.

Browser play is a little wonky, and slow, but it works. There are some issues with the font - but I don't really know how to fix the blur. It took me a few hours to even get Japanese text to even work in unity x.x
